Taking Pictures

           I usually have no free-time, but when I do, I use it to take pictures.
         
 Normally, I take 100 pictures a week. My friends and I love to take pictures together, and sometimes I edit them to make them look rustic or anyway I think looks cool. Most of my pictures are action pictures. On the picture to the right, there is a yellow ladybug on a purple flower. This is one of my favorite pictures I have taken.

I think that this picture on the left is my best edited one. It's white with a blurred out back round, so this way, it makes you focus on the flower. I happened to take this one on my front porch, the first day of Spring.

             My very first action picture that was taken is on the right. It is two out of the three dogs I have. If you look closely, you can see that my yellow dog's tongue is out as she was trying to get up. I don't usually get good action pictures from my dog, so this is one that i'm pretty happy that it turned out well.





       Pictures is one of my passions, and here are some others that I have taken. The top left one is an edited flower. The pink clouds, then leaves, and lastly, flowers.

Shopping

Writing Goal: My goal is to capitalize more!

           The first time I went shopping, I had the best time running up and down the isles of the of the stores. As you continue reading, you will see why I love to shop.

           Going through the mall, I see all the people go by. I look around and can't decide what store to go to next. When I go to the mall, and see all the stores lined up, I wonder how I'm going to have enough time to shop in all of them. With all the money I have brought, there are bags weighing down my arms. Getting new items such as clothes makes me get new clothing ideas. You can mix and match clothes to get a look that fits you best. I love to get clothes, and I think that is my favorite thing to buy.
        Going shopping can give me something to do. You can also walk around the store and not even know your getting exercise. Unless you use and escalator to get to each store, then your legs will probably hurt from walking if you shop for quite a long time. When you go shopping with people, you can get a closer bond with that person or people. I'm usually with my mom or friends, and we go shopping almost twice a week! Normally my friends and I make funny jokes, run up and down the isles, and get yelled at a few times. My friends always say that we should go to Starbucks first and I agree because that is our favorite place to go. We have lots of fun, and that's why I love to shop anywhere or with anyone.
        
           To conclude, that is why I love to shop, and I think everyone should do it if you want to get closer to people you like to hang out with.

The holidays my family celebrate

                My family celebrates many holidays. One of them is Christmas. I love to celebrate Christmas because I love to give people gifts. Giving and seeing a smile on people's faces make me so happy. If I didn't get presents, I wouldn't care because Christmas is supposed to about love. My mom is always the first one awake. She wakes up at 4 a.m, but I wake up around 8 a.m. I think she gets more excited then I do!


               Another holiday we celebrate is Thanksgiving. Before we moved, we would have all of my dad's side of the family come over. Ever since I moved, It has just been my mom, dad, brother, and me. It has been a little boring but it's better than having no family at all. We usually play cards and watch football. We don't have a specific team that we watch, but we just like to spend as much time together as we can.



             

One more holiday my family celebrates is New Years Eve. My family and I go to a hotel  with my best friend from my old school. The hotel is really nice, and once we get settled in, we go out to eat. We usually go to a pizza place, then after we play cards and games. My friend and I go swimming and then we open Christmas presents since we can't be with each other for Christmas. Our families have lots of fun and we love to do this every year.

My emoji story

There was a man named Frank. He loved nothing more than his horses. He rode his horses everywhere. Frank was the only person that owned a horse in town. There was one time where he went to the store, and they let him take his horse in. Sadly, the store got burnt to the ground do to a robbery. There was a horse track at the scene and horse hair on the side walk. The police thought of who it could be but they just couldn't think. Frank saw the fire in the news paper and knew what he had to do. He got rid of his horses, took his fence down, and got a bike. He did that in the span of 2 days. As the police thought about it, they went to his house knowing it was him that burnt down the store. When the police showed up, they all they saw was a bike. They didn't even question him but walked off and went to look for people that owned horses, and they never found out who did it in the END!

Veterans Day

                When I was eight, I saw a commercial for Casey’s Pizza where a young boy bought a pizza for a solider who just came home from war and had no where to go. This image has stayed with me because I thought that everyone had a home. As I became older, I realized that a lot of veterans struggle, and that’s why we need to honor them every day…not just one day out of the year.

Did you know that veterans make up more than 12% of homeless? Many vets come home from war without any money, food, water, or home to go to. After what they do for us, they should get better treatment than that. Veterans do many things for us, such as they put their lives on the line, so we can live a free life. If we didn’t have vets, then we would not have the things we have today. You would not have the freedom to go to school or walk around town with your friends.  I’m not saying that all people treat veterans with no respect, because there is something called the honor flight.

What is the honor flight?  In 2005 Earl Morse, a physician assistant and a retired air force captain thought that veterans didn’t get enough recognition, so he decided that he wanted to pay his respect in some type of way. He then realized that most of the world war II members could not travel to Washington DC to see their memorial. So he called in 300 private pilots to see if they would take the veterans to the memorial. He thought that this is a respectful way to say thank you to all of the veterans and many of the vets that went of this flight have enjoyed it. The honor flight is a non-profit organization that transports U.S veterans to go visit memorials with no cost from the vets. There are 6 airplanes from Springfield that go out to each state at least three times a year and picks up Veterans. Earl takes the veterans out to lunch and then takes them to Washington to see memorials to honor the U.S vets that                                                                                                       have fought in the respective wars.

These are many reasons why you should always honor a veteran all the time and not just one day of the year, so thank a veteran the next time you see one and be thankful for everything they do for you.

Personal Photos

I chose this picture because I thought that I would share the beauty of fall. The setting of this picture gives me a warm feeling inside. The flowers i think is the prettiest object in this picture.

This leaf is very beautiful and looks majestic. I love that it has blurry edges and then the camera focused on the middle. I think that this picture is very beautiful.

This is a type of cone flower that I found at the pumpkin patch. It has the yellow outside like a sunflower and the shape of a cone. I loved taking this this picture because it reminded me of a field of flowers.

Copyright

In class I learned about copyright. I learned that if you copy write, then you will have a chance of being fined or going to jail. I learned some of this before, so this was not a big shock to me. I think the consequences are reasonable because you shouldn't steal. I have never stolen someones belongings and hope no one else does.

All about me!

Hi, my name is Marissa. I’m in eighth grade, and I love to shop. Sometime I would like to go to the Mall of America and buy something from every store. I would like to go with my friends and my mom because we are very close. I talk about everything with my mom and my friends. I can really trust them not to tell other people what I say. Another thing I like to do is play sports. I’m in every sport my school offers such as track, volleyball, softball, cheerleading, and basketball. One of my favorite sports is track, basketball, and volleyball. The reason I like track is because I like to throw shot put, and I’m not too bad at it. Volleyball is fun to me because that is just something that I like to do in my free time and I just find it fun to do. I love basketball because I like the contact in the sport. I often practice these sports at home so I can get better and to waste time practicing something I love.  

Something I’ve always wanted is a horse. I have always wanted one since I was six because I went to my uncle’s house and he had really pretty horses and I always wanted to ride them. I think that Is where my love for horses came from. Now, I go to rodeos and see horses all the time, but my mom never lets me get one because they can smell, cost lots of money, and I’m never home. If I could get a horse, I would get a white one with black spots because I think that those ones are the prettiest. Their long white hair is so beautiful, and it is pretty to see it float in the air as they run.

My favorite college team is the Iowa Hawkeyes. I love the name and everything about it. In the state where the college is located (Iowa), has many places to shop, and many things to do. I would never be bored because there would always be something for me to do. Iowa is also my favorite state of all because everything happens there such as concerts, good fairs, and obviously the best college out there, (in my opinion). Their options of food is amazing, so every time I go, I always try different places because there is so much to try!

Something that makes me happy is my dog. She is always happy to see me and anyone that she sees. Whenever I come home, she jumps on the door until I walk in and jumps on me whenever I come home from a sporting event. She always waits by the door all day until I get home.  She is also very fun to mess with because she always runs into walls when I throw the tennis ball in the house. She always cheers me up when I’m sad or calms me down when I’m mad. My dog also makes me laugh every time she sits in her cage and barks at me to tell me that she wants to go to bed. That’s why I love my dog.
